Opening more clinics in the metropolitan Chicago area is the right strategy. More clinics increases access. With greater logistical access using multiple modes of transportation, abortion services become more convenient for women in Illinois and from outside the state.
Now is the time for…
Patient Centered Abortion Care.
The Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision has forced many reproductive health clinics to close, making it difficult for women to get the care they deserve. Women’s access to reproductive health is under attack. Only 38% of women 13-44 live in a state supportive of abortion rights. Waiting times for women to get abortions are going from days to weeks, putting patients at greater risk of complications and forcing them to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term despite possible threats to their health.
NOW IS THE TIME TO CREATE ADDITIONAL ABORTION CENTERS.
NOW IS THE TIME TO FIGHT THE EROSION OF WOMEN’S REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS.
Comprehensive training for healthcare professionals.
The number of trained abortion providers is eroding. For years, medical schools have not consistently trained their students in the delivery of full-scope reproductive health care. As clinics across the country close, training is shrinking. Scarcity of trained providers will restrict abortion access for years to come, denying women the access to the reproductive health care they deserve.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEDICAL PERSONNEL NEED TO INCREASE SO THERE ARE MORE PROVIDERS ABLE TO DELIVER COMPLETE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE.
